So not too long ago, I was speaking with a colleague smart and talented, knowledgeable, but not really getting the kind of results that he wants to get. He’s got a business where the offering solid I’d even call it like really high quality, but the business success isn’t there just yet, but he’s is busy as can be like each and every day. So what’s the problem like what’s the holdup? Well, you know, I, I don’t know that, that he understands the difference, right?
They’re kind of two different types of people. There are people that are really busy doing stuff, and then there are people who get the important stuff done, and it sounds like wordplay or whatever else, but there’s a huge distinction between the two, because I mean, think about it. How many people do you know that wouldn’t self identify as saying they’re busy, right, man, I know retirees that will tell me how busy they are. If everybody thinks they’re busy and you know, there’s probably a lot of validity to it. I’m sure that they are busy too, you know, in, in some way. But the the difference is that there there’s being busy and reactive and just doing, like I said, stuff, and then there’s getting the things that move the needle done, right? And they’re not like this guys focus often enough.
And frankly, when I talk to people who, who, aren’t, where they want to be people who are kind of struggling or stuck the, you know, the, the things that really move the needle, aren’t their focus often enough either. So what are those kind of things for a local training business, the things that, that do move the needle, you know, getting results and create an extraordinary experience for clients. More like generating more of the right prospects, creating a nurturing a world-class network, getting new clients proactively each and every week. The, that you’d consider your ideal client, you know, tracking your numbers and driving your revenue and personal income goals, installing and improving systems and, and hiring and coaching, great team members. Those are the things that you should be focused on, but frankly, that’s not what most people spend their time on. That’s why man, with our coaching clients, we give them a planner and tell them how to prioritize.
So they spend more time on that, you know, for an online business, what, what are those things you should be focused on? Well, it’s not dramatically different than the offline, but you know, high quality leads, conversions, revenue, and income systems. You know, if you’re going to hire a team or delegate, same stuff to having great offerings, creating, you know high quality, even extraordinary content, building a, a list of subscribers and nurturing that list. It’s essentially the same type of stuff. But again, it’s so easy for people to get caught up in doing the busy work. They’re doing the $10 an hour tasks instead of doing the hundred or $200 an hour tasks. Now, if the things that I just talked about, don’t comprise at least 80% of the hours you’re working in your business. You know, you having what I would call your ideal business is nothing more than a pipe dream. Now I know that may sound harsh, but it’s true. And you know, but if you embrace this mindset, this approach you’ll get where you want to go sooner than you probably imagined.
So, you know, I think that that’s one of the most important things that we do in our coaching is we help people prioritize and execute on the things that actually move the needle. But whether you’re in our coaching program, you’re doing it on your own. You’re taking another path, whatever the need still remains, right? The problem still has to be solved. How do you invest your time in the things that are going to give you the outcome you want? Because it is an investment, right? It is the, you know, the, the type of thing that, that time, you know, is non-renewable, whatever time you’re investing, you don’t get back. So are you going to invest it in a way that gives you this reward of a business that, that you’ve always wanted? Or are you going to invest that time? Just putting out fires and being reactive and settling for the business that you’re like, man, how did I end up here? So that’s the question, right? Which one are you? Are you going to be the person who’s, who’s busy doing stuff, or you’re going to be the person who gets the important stuff done. That’s the question, what’s your answer.
