Hey, Pat Rigsby here and in today’s episode, I want to talk with you about the secret to good results. Let’s get started.

As I record this, we are in December, and it’s been you know, a couple weeks of helping people work on annual planning for the upcoming year. And that to me is always a really fun time. But all too often, you know, people will talk about, well, what’s the, the marketing calendar look like or whatever else for the
upcoming year? And they, they, they’re thinking about things that are happening all the way out in October and November of the upcoming year, but they don’t plan their week or plan their day.
And so what I wanted to talk about in this episode was how good habits drive good results. And, you know, if, if you want to build a, a, a really successful business or, or whatever else, but obviously this is the Fitness Business School podcast, so we’ll use it through that lens. You know, you need to create
habits that are the habits and behaviors of the people that get the results that you want. So, you know, first for me, it’s always planning the next day, the evening prior. I want to prioritize the things that are important to me in my business. I want to be able to review what happened and what went well, maybe what didn’t go as well as I would’ve liked. What did I learn? What can I take into tomorrow to make tomorrow successful? So, planning the next day, planning the next week.
And, you know, we, we do that. Typically the people in my world either do that on Friday, at the end of the week, they’re planning the upcoming week, or for me, I do it on Sunday because I use kind of Saturday to just clear my head and disconnect and be able to look at everything fresh. And, you know,
planning the upcoming week to make sure that there’s enough attention being paid to the goals I want to achieve during the upcoming week. So I don’t get caught up in only looking at, you know, the things that feel urgent. You know, if I’m gonna set out targets for the upcoming week, then I need to
know how I’m gonna get there. So I can take a look at the snapshot of the week ahead and say, well, I’m gonna do this on Monday. I’m gonna do this on Tuesday, this on Wednesday, and make sure that I’ve allocated enough time, effort, energy, resources to getting to where I want to go.
You know, writing every day, exercising every day, looking at your numbers every day. And that was a hard one for me. I didn’t particularly enjoy the looking at my numbers e every day, but once I figured out some simple things that I could do that, you know, they kept me aware and understanding the
business. And, and not reviewing 40 different numbers, but reviewing some simple critical ones. You know, that’s the stuff that, that moved me forward thinking about how I’m going to generate new business every day, whether it’s selling something or creating new leads or scheduling new consultations, or getting people in on trials. You know, the things that move the needle instead of just being reactive to the things that are thrown in your direction. You know, I think that’s conditioning our mindset. It, it’s helping us become what we aspire to be.
It’s helping us move forward. And so, you know, I think that so many of us understand this instinctively about fitness. We understand that we’re a product of our habits. We’re a product of our, the behaviors that we practice consistently. Well, the same holds true in business. I mean, are you learning things each
day or each week? Are you applying them and implementing, you know, what are you doing on a consistent basis? Not are, what are you doing every once in a while? Because the things that you are doing on a consistent basis are gonna compound. And before you know it, those good habits pile up and
they yield really, really meaningful results. So if you’ve been stuck, if you’ve not gotten to where you wanted to go over the past year, two years, three years, obviously we’ve had some, some odd circumstances along the way, but guess what we can plan with, with some optimism going into the
upcoming year. And maybe one of the things that you need to focus on is what habit am I going to employ to get the
results that I want?
