So rule number eight, this is kind of like the big result, right? Like when we talk about serving clients there’s this result they want, right? If they could just snap their fingers, they would have this, this wonderful result, right? Weight loss look, and feel the way they wanna feel, improve their performance, whatever it is. Well, for us having our ideal business means experiencing both professional and personal satisfaction. A lot of times when we take on the role of a business owner, even if we’re not thinking about it in this way, when we embark on our entrepreneurial journey, we quickly shift in this kind of belief or acceptance that personal and professional satisfaction are, are like mutually exclusive things like, man, you gotta sacrifice this, this personal side to, to achieve anything meaningful professionally.
And you know, as we start out in our professional life, we’re pretty overwhelmed. We get burned out. We get stressed out. I mean, almost everybody I know who’s who’s built anything meaningful. Professionally has felt that way. We start to wonder if we’ve made the right decision. We’ve taken on all these responsibilities that come with business owner. We’re like, man, is it really supposed to be this hard? We think about all the sacrifices that we are making that. And, and it happens to all of us, right? And, and that’s okay. As long as it’s not a holding pattern, right? We shouldn’t be resentful of other people’s success or achievements. We should learn from them. We should be inspired by the fact that yes, other people have been able to graduate from that kind of overwhelm and nonstop hustle stage. And we should start working towards moving into a role in our business. We’re not only we can help others achieve their goals, but we can build something where really others achieving their goals is kind of helping to propel us, to achieving our goals. And that’s rule number eight, this acceptance that we must pursue and build personal and professional, happiness and fulfillment. It’s kind of this culmination, all the previous seven rules.
Ultimately, this is my barometer for success. If we fail at rule number eight, we’re not building our ideal business. We’re not enjoying the ideal lifestyle that we want. And mind you again. I want to clarify ideal doesn’t mean perfect. I, my life has plenty of imperfections and every other person who’s achieved. Some degree of professional success has some imperfections too. We’re all human, but with all the effort and time and energy that we invest, I don’t think we should have to settle. We don’t have to compromise this belief that you can have professional and personal satisfaction simultaneously. In fact, if you’re building your business the right way, and you’re adhering to these first seven rules before what I’m going over now, you should be on the journey to having both.
You should be working in a way that energizes and fulfills you. You should be working a schedule and playing a role that makes you happy and allows you to have powerful impact. You should be compensated well for the work you’re doing. If you’re attracting the right clientele, you should be enthusiastic and excited about going to work. If you’re employing a world class team, you should be happy that you get to spend time with those people. So if you’re doing the things that we’ve gone over during these eight now rules, then you know, this eighth rule is kind of the, the, the icing on the cake of having your ideal business. So once more, don’t settle. Don’t compromise. Take this eighth rule as this litmus test is to, to whether or not you’re really on track to having your ideal business. Now, if you are celebrated, enjoy it. Continue building continue evolving. That’s the, the, the entrepreneurial gift, right? We’re never static. We’re never just satisfied with where we are. We’re always wanting to improve and that’s great. Better is always a wonderful pursuit.
