Hey, Pat Rigsby here and in this episode I want to talk with you about how you can have more hours in the day. Let’s get to it.
Welcome to The Fitness Business School podcast – the show for fitness business owners who want to grow their income, increase their impact and improve their lifestyle. Be sure to listen til the end of this episode, because we have a brand new special offer exclusive for listeners. So stay tuned.
How often have you heard somebody say if there were only more hours in the day, if there were only, you know, if only there were more time? Well, let me give view my way of thinking about this and and you know, may, maybe it’ll help you view time through a different lens. Well, so, so a day is 1,440 minutes, right? So basically that’s, and, and that’s, you know, the, the, the full day we’re, we’re talking, you know, at midnight to, to midnight. So we’re not talking about work time, anything like that. But, so if we want to have more hours in the day, if we wanna almost even think of adding another hour in the week for, for us, then really all we have to do is create 1,440 minutes of leverage. We need to think about, okay, can we get 1,440 minutes of stuff off our plate? Can we create 1,440 minutes of other training time for people during the week? Like for, for another coach, because now that’s, Hey, we’re bringing in a full day, extra revenue so I can back off my schedule.
Can we create systems, like, can we use tech, like, I think of technology as me hiring this, you know, this, this software, this program, this platform, this tool, just like I would hire an employee, right? So I’m doing it to create, leverage, create time, leverage, and, you know, so can I automate things like email newsletters and I use tools like Zapier, I guess, to you know, to automate the, the movement of data from one thing to another, if we want to have more hours in the day, are there are ways to do it right? We can automate or delegate or create more leverage with our time. And, you know, that may be counterintuitive. We may be thinking, well, Hey, if I had two more hours, I could get this, this additional stuff done. Well, really the way we need to think about it is how can I use technology or another person to get those two hours of stuff done that I, I am now just the facilitator of getting that result. I need to set them up to succeed, whether it’s technology or a human, and I need to wind them up and let ’em go and create that extra, you know, 120 minutes of time. If we’re saying I want two more hours in the day, or you know, I, I think that for me, when we opened up the, the coaching program, like business growth accelerator, and I knew, Hey, we want to serve more people because we wanna make this a, a, a manageable, like an affordable program for somebody where they, you know, they can come in, we can help them. They can get a great result, and it, it’s not, you know, such a detriment that it’s, you know, they, you know, they’re cutting into their own personal income. It it’s, you know, feels like an anchor at times, weighing them down.
We wanted to, to make this a, a really high value for, for what somebody pays. Well, I knew, Hey, I’m not gonna be able to be the person to run every zoom and answer every question on whatever else, but we’re gonna have more zooms that are needed. We’re gonna have more questions that are asked. We’re gonna need more are coaching than I personally can provide. So, you know, I could, I essentially hired, you know, probably another 1,440 minutes of coaching per week to, to more than duplicate myself to, to probably, you know, add another three X of myself to, to the people that we serve. And now, you know, this, this is an atmosphere where somebody can get coaching any time, pretty much every day. And they’re gonna be able to be on a zoom pretty much, you know, five days a week, multiple times. And that wouldn’t be possible if it were just me.
So when, whenever you think in terms of, Hey, I want more time. Well, there’s a path to it. It’s not just working longer hours. Sometimes it’s automation. Sometimes it’s delegation. Sometimes it’s creating systems to take the, the process you have more efficient. And, you know, if, if we’re delegating, if we’re hiring more people, we’re, we’re essentially acquiring more time that, you know, if we’re wise about it, it, it isn’t just for top line growth it’s so we can perhaps create more leverage or work less and, and work smarter on our end. So if you want that extra day a week, it’s possible. In fact, it’s proven, it’s not theory. It’s something that happened every day, and I’m sure thousands and thousands of businesses, and it can happen in yours too. But understand that it’s going to require you to invest a little bit of time up front, to set up your automations, to set up somebody that you’re delegating to to be able to succeed. If you do that, though, you can have your extra hundred 20 minutes a day. You can have your extra 144 minutes a week. I mean 1,440 minutes a week. You can have more time, but you know, you’ve gotta build it. It’s not just, you know, you can’t add hours to the clock, but you can add hours to your business.
