Vito La Fata is the owner of Fitness Profit Systems and Co-Creator of Visionary Planner (Fitness and Wellness Edition). He helps fitness, wellness professionals, and coaches create their vision while they launch their business, income and lifestyle so that they can reach more people, enjoy more of life and create more impact.
Vito talks about his core values, what means most to him and how he chooses to align the people and events in his life to reflect that.
He turned to the gym, got certified as a trainer and landed a job with no experience (and clients!), and because he was afraid to set up and sell. It didn’t take long though and he had 31 clients in just 30 days.
After many years of being a trainer, Vito decided to open his own studio in Orange County, California. He ran that studio for nine years and then he realized that it did not fully align with his ideal business and lifestyle.
“Do I want more freedom, time, location, people, purpose? And that’s when I started to get the bug for going into the online world, and found network marketing as well.”
After four years of working with online and info products, he found himself in a position to be able to decide if he wanted to continue the brick and mortar model or choose freedom and travel. In 2014, Vito decided to close his studio.
“For me that was the ideal business blueprint!”
With the skills he learned, Vito now centers his business around business and marketing coaching.
“Building a personal brand is where you take your life-learning journey and you turn around and monetize it.”
Vito has been able to see gaps in other industries where he has been able to turn his learnings in life toward that audience and pivot into serving them in those gaps.
“Anything you have done in your life, you can turn around and make it a business.”
He reveals what gaps are common in the fit pro industry. Vito says people seem to be trapped in the “trading hours for dollars” mentality. For this reason, more people in this industry need to get into the online space.
“The biggest gap is I don’t see any off-the-floor income. I don’t see anything automated in their business.”
When it comes to personal branding, his advice is to make space for it and to carve out the time to learn and build your brand.
“Anything in our lives is monetizable if we just map the journey and then pick the niche or the focus or the topic that we want to go own and master.”
