Ryan Lee – Show Notes

Ryan Lee is a serial entrepreneur, best-selling author, and, most importantly, busy father of four! When he’s not carpooling his kids – he’s busy building businesses.

Ryan started in the health and fitness field and in 1999 he started his own business with a website selling fitness equipment. A few years later, Ryan created his first paid membership site, creating training courses for customers online. His business grew quickly and his friends started seeing his success, and wanted advice and how they could step into the business world.

One thing Ryan makes clear is the freedom he has with his business and how important his family life is. Ryan integrates that into his training advice.

“I wish this for everyone who wants it; I really want to help them achieve it.”

He says that through working with so many people that they all have general common traits. One thing that stands out is their burning desire for business or achievement.

“It’s never stopping; whatever it is you do, never stopping and not giving up.”

Ryan talks about being versatile in your business and altering your process as needed. He points out the how quickly things can change in any industry.

“When I first started there were no videos online, there was no YouTube, there was no Facebook, there was no audio and now if you don’t have video you seem almost antiquated.”

One of the biggest pieces of advice that Ryan shares is to always see your business from the perspective of your clients or customers.

“I always tell them put yourself in the shoes of your customer, your client and what do you want? What is going to shake the market? What is going to have them stand up and be like, oh my god, I want that!”

When it comes to partnering, Ryan says to choose someone who has a different set of skills than you, as you should have different strengths. Another point he makes is to never negotiate your equity, and hiring by project is the way to go. He shares that you do not need a partner, and outsourcing to people such as virtual assistants is a great solution.
